Romo and Interieurs…a collaboration
Romo window by Interieurs
Ever since Romo started to distribute their fabrics to the US, I have been relying on their luxurious, colorful, soft textiles. Romo is now one of the leading textile company with the most amazing talents designing, creating and weaving textiles.
I have developed a close working relationship with Romo, and this holiday season, Interieurs designed the Romo Holiday window, on view in the New York Design and Decorators Building entrance windows.
The purpose was to evocate a mental image of a winter wonderland…..
Please, stop by and browse
The Romo team, drill in hand
Jennifer (Interieurs) following instruction from Anthony…something wrong with this pic? us ladies are doing all the manual labor.. I need to mention that I basically flew from an all day stressful loft installation in Tribeca to the Romo window instal….Jennifer saved me as I ridiculously fell off the ladder...
Unveiling of the window. Jessica treated us all to some wonderful bubbly back in her Showroom
Welcome winter!

In the mood…for a little romance, dream and beauty
Quite a long title, but it indeed encompenses our unveiling of my Showroom INTERIEURS holiday windows and the latest Jose Esteves Show.
I could not have dreamed of a more festive, happy, beautiful party. Champagne flowing, editors, clients and friends talking and laughing into the night. Everyone chatting with Jose about his inspiration and work.
We transformed the showroom into a "cabinet de Curiosite" with webs and stars floating. Exhausted but thrilled, after the last guest and member of team Interieurs left, I closed the door, shut down the light, sat in my favorite chaise and closed my eyes. 2013 is almost over, the thrills, the pains, the worries, my african adventure, the constant fear of the unknown… is it really all worth it? Then I summoned all energy left in my body, YES it is! How lucky I am to have met creative brilliant kind talent such as Jose, my team…yes we bicker, yes I get upset and demanding, but we laugh (especially when I start dancing the twist to loud vintage rock music past 8pm… trying to crunch the last invoice) and I truly love everyone in my team, my work and the little moments of pure elation when we make a difference in our client's life by bringing beauty, peace and joy.
MERCI!
A Bientôt,
Happy Holidays!

While in Paris...
I just received an email from my dear friend and fabulous artist, Jose Esteves, with pictures of his latest designs for the world renowned Pierre Gagnaire's latest restaurant. It befits perfectly that I should write about the sanctum of extraordinary culinary experiences, after my post on secrets of good health
Jose Esteves lighting creations have been the focus of our unique, creative lighting collections for the past seven or eight years. All creative juices are at their best when Carolyn Quatermaine, stylist extraordinaire, has free reign of a project. If in Paris treat yourself: Pierre Gagnaire, 6 Rue Balzac Paris 8eme. If Interieurs were a restaurant in lieu of a Showroom, this would be it!
Enjoy!

Jose Esteves celebration of light in Cote Sud
The greatest thrill in my job is to work side by side with creative minds. I love the thought process, the inspiration, the moment when something clicks in your mind....and you know...that's it! This is what i envisioned... I will be going back to Paris in january to work with Jose on our annual show of signed unique lighting sculptures. Jose is commissioned all over the world for his lighting creations... to think I found a pic of a small lantern in a copy of Cote Sud a few years ago and searched for the artist for more than a year! Tenacity paid off and Jose and I not only have an amazing working relationship, but became close friends as well.
His work has been often published, enjoy this latest issue of my favorite magazine, Cote Sud...
Let's dream..
Interieurs represents Jose exclusively in the US. Please check: http://www.interieurs.com/collections/jose_esteves

Eclectic Lighting by Jose Esteves
I was so thrilled by the turn out for our Jose Esteves lighting show. Each piece is unique and handmade by Jose in his studio in the Perche, beautiful region outside of Paris.
Collectors of Jose's pieces, clients, friends, editors came to meet with him, and enjoyed a wonderful evening in the Interieurs showroom and out on the terrace. I trembled all day as the weather had promised us a day and evening of drenching rain...thankfully, the rain was only slight drizzle and the sun umbrellas protected guests from being wet.Wine and champaign flowed, conversations and laughter went on into the night. I am now getting ready for our next event on May 17th...

Jose Esteves Lighting Show
The creative process is by far the most fascinating part of my work. I love my working relationship with Jose as we both share similar sensibility and taste.
I went to Paris for one day in January to meet with Jose and discuss the May 2012 show. I already had an idea in my head, I saw...organic, movement, mobile, white and black always with a touch of whimsical. On perhaps the coldest day in Paris, we walked the streets of Saint Germain, and visited all the Mid Century galleries. Warming up over dinner, Jose, pen in hand, and me, talking non stop with excitement, the fusion of our ideas started to take form on the paper table cloth of this quaint fabulous little bistrot that Monique had booked for the three of us.
If you are in New York City on May 8th, please join me at Interieurs and meet the charismatic Jose Esteves and view his Night Light creations.
A Bientot,
Francine

Interieurs...chez Courtney Cox
One event I clearly remember though, is when Hilary Swank was in the process of furnishing her apartment. She purchased most pieces from us and did make quite a few visits to our showroom with and without her designer. I love to talk to creative people about their craft, and so ended up spending the entire afternoon talking with her about passion, her childhood, poverty, perseverance and its rewards. She truly touched my heart.
In this issue of Elle Decors, Courtney Cox's house is featured, modern, airy with a twist. A client just mentioned to me yesterday that he noticed Jose Esteves light in the entry shot. I thought I would share this with you. Jose being my favorite interieurs artist, I was very pleased.
